Many out of town visitors are unfamiliar with the Echo Canyon Park rules and regulations. Here is a list of them for use when visiting the park for hiking, rock climbing or simply sight seeing.

Warning For All Patrons: Violations of these codes can result in up to a $2500 $1,000 fine and/or 6 months in jail. (See Below)

Update: As of January 2014 Park Rules and Regulations were modified post the improvement project.  We have made the proper adjustments below however please note that most notably Dogs are no longer allowed on any of the Camelback Mountain trails.  This is probably the most significant change in rules that effects the average hiker.

***You will notice that both signs are fairly similar in rules with the main difference being the bullet point about golfing practice being prohibited on Cholla Side.  This is due to the location of the Cholla Trailhead right next to the Phoenician Golf Course.

There are frequently park rangers on Camelback, espcially during peak season (Oct-Mar) when parking moderation is required. Through our experience we have witnessed every rule broken, sometimes causing safety issues. Thank you for keeping these rules in mind when visiting Camelback. These rules are designed for the safety and enjoyment for all visitors and residents of the surrounding areas.
