Parking for Echo Canyon

For those who have been to hike the Echo Canyon trail during peak season (Oct-Apr) you know that parking can be a bit of a hassle.

On May 12, 2011 the Phoenix Parks & Recreation Board held an open house to work out how to correct this issue.

Typically during these busy times park rangers are on hand to ensure that people waiting to hike do not block resident driveways.

Additionally we noticed recently that parking on almost all side streets in the surrounding neighborhoods has been restricted and blocked with fresh “No Parking” signs.

Pictured below are the only legal areas to park as of now.  If anybody knows of any other legitimate places to park, please post location in comments below.

Update: Since the time of this post the parking for Echo Canyon has been overhauled.  Check out our article on Echo Canyon Reopening to learn more about that.  The good news is that there is much more parking now.  Keep in mind though that during peak times, parking can still be full.
